CONSIGNMENT POLICY

PLEASE CALL IN ADVANCE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
We will accept a maximum of 20 items per consignor, per appointment.

For all new consignment items accepted, the following schedule will apply:

Item price                    Consignment Period             Commission to Consignor

$3 – $24                                8 weeks                                                40%

$25 – $49                              4 months                                             40%

$50 & up                              1 year                                                    40%

Although we place an emphasis on the best clothing available, we strive to provide a good selection for the wide range of tastes and budgets of our customers. It doesn’t have to be a top label but if it’s out of season, outdated (more than 3 years old), wrinkled, damaged or soiled, we do not want it. Clothing must be neatly folded and/or laid out, must be clean and free from smells, pet hair, etc. Buttons should be buttoned, zippers zipped, snaps snapped and must be right side out. We will accept a maximum of 20 items per consignor, per appointment. We don’t have the space to store or display things that are unlikely to sell. If an item is found to be flawed after we accept your clothing or accessory, we will donate or discard it immediately – without contacting you – so please check things over carefully before bringing them in.  As we only have space to process a certain amount of new items at a time, please call in advance to make an appointment.

If not sold after the applicable period, articles will become property of Cream of the Crop to donate or sell in a clearance sale. If you do not wish something to be donated, it is your responsibility to retrieve your items before your time is up. Please keep a detailed list of items so they can be easily found.

Cream of the Crop reserves the right to set prices (at approximately 25% – 50% of the full original price) and hold periodic sales to encourage business. It is to everyone’s benefit to receive the highest possible price but the law of “supply and demand” must apply. For all items sold during your consignment period, your account will be credited with 40% of the sales price.

At this time, we do not have the resources to automatically issue monthly checks to consignors. Your balance is always available to use as store credit and we will gladly write a check for balances as of the previous month’s end on request.  It is your responsibility to use your credit or collect payment for items sold. Accounts remaining inactive for a period of 2 years will become property of Cream of the Crop.

If you charge purchases against your account a 10% discount on non-sale items will be applied to those purchases. Please mention this when you bring your purchases to the register. We cannot allow accounts to be overdrawn or for you to charge against anticipated sales that may or may not happen.

Cream of the Crop makes every effort to maintain a safe and secure sales environment but is not responsible for the rare loss of a tag, theft, or damage to consignment items.

Cream of the Crop reserves the right to change this policy as market forces dictate to remain in business. Changes will be dated and posted on our website: www.creamdecrop.com so please review them before each season and contact us if you have any questions.

HANDBAGS & WALLETS:

We will no longer accept fake or “knock off” designer handbags or wallets – EVER!  Misrepresentation will result in the termination of your account.

SHOES:

No matter how good the original quality of the shoe, if there are visible foot prints or stuff caked on the soles, NO ONE wants to buy them.  Please clean them well before you bring them in.

JEWELRY:

Unless you’ve made a special agreement with us beforehand, please do not bring in more than 10 items per appointment as display space is very limited.  Items must be clean, polished and ready to display.  Please place each piece in separate baggies or jewelry boxes with a label or note to identify the metals, stones, designer names and your estimated resale value which must be at least $8.  Watches without working batteries will no longer be accepted.
